General Info

  • Alternative names
    • Similar to a putative C elegans gene encoded in cosmid F17H10
    • Sorting nexin 17
  • RelevanceThe SNX17 gene encodes a member of the sorting nexin family. Members of this family are involved in intracellular trafficking, and contain a phox (PX) domain, which is a phosphoinositide binding domain. The protein contains a B41 domain, but does not contain a coiled coil region, like some family members. This protein interacts with the cytoplasmic domain of P-selectin, and may function in the intracellular trafficking of P-selectin.
  • Cellular localizationCytoplasm. Note=Associated with early endosomes.
