    Tissue: Stomach Location: Gastric (pyloric) antrum Diagnosis: Adenocarcinoma Stage: IIIA Grade: n/a Gross findings: Tumor size 5cm x 5cm x 4cm in diameter. Lesion is large and has an irregular profile. It shows necrosis and interrupts the gastric fold. Paragastric lymph nodes: 6. Microscopic findings: The tumor is composed of nests of epithelial cells forming the gland, with coarse chromatin and nuclear pleomorphism. The tumor cells are also arranged in trebecular patterns or cords and invade the muscular wall and serosa. Tumor necrosis is present, as well as lymphocytic response. Lymph nodes show 3/6 positive.

  • Purification notesTissue specimens are homogenized in modified RIPA buffer to obtain the soluble proteins, and centrifuged to clarify. The pellet was further extracted with a second buffer to obtain the less soluble protein fraction. The lysate solution may appear turbid at cold temperatures due to insolubility of buffer components. The solution should clear upon warming to room temperature.
