  • General notesTissue: Stomach Location: Lesser curvature Diagnosis: Adenocarcinoma, well differentiated. Stage: n/a Grade: n/a Sex: Male Age: 74 years Gross findings: Ulcerative and vegetated lesion measures 4cm by 5cm in diameter. Gray in colour, hemorrhagic around the lesion. Wall is 1.5cm thick, firm, dirty and hemorrhagic. Microscopic findings: Biopsy shows malignant columnar cells arranged in glands. The malignant cells have clear cytoplasm with vacuoles. Nuclei have irregular nuclear membranes, cytoplasm is granular and vacuolated with large nucleolei. The malignant cells have invaded the gastric wall and there are many lymphocytes. There is evidence of mucinous secretion. Soluble protein fraction

  • Purification notesTissue specimens are homogenized in modified RIPA buffer to obtain the soluble proteins, and centrifuged to clarify. The lysate solution may appear turbid at cold temperatures due to insolubility of buffer components. The solution should clear upon warming to room temperature.
