    Location: Lesser curvature Diagnosis: Signet-ring cell carcinoma Stage: IIB Grade: n/a Gross findings: Tumor measures 3cm x 3cm x 3.5cm in diameter. Cut section hard and white/gray. Paragastric lymph nodes: 5. Microscopic findings: The tumor is composed of malignant cells with coarse chromatin and large vacuolated cytoplasm. The tumor has large numbers of signet-ring cells mixed with other tumor cells, floating in a mucin pool and infiltrating the gastric wall. Blood vessel and serosal invasions are not revealed. No tumor necrosis. Lymph nodes show 0/5 positive.

  • Purification notesTissue specimens are homogenized in modified RIPA buffer to obtain the soluble proteins, and centrifuged to clarify. The pellet was further extracted with a second buffer to obtain the less soluble protein fraction. The lysate solution may appear turbid at cold temperatures due to insolubility of buffer components. The solution should clear upon warming to room temperature.
