FunctionInvolved in 3'-UTR ARE-mediated MYC stabilization. Binds avidly to the AU-rich element in FOS and IL3/interleukin-3 mRNAs. In the case of the FOS AU-rich element, HUR binds to a core element of 27 nucleotides that contain AUUUA, AUUUUA and AUUUUUA motifs.

ab54987 Immunoprecipitating HuR / ELAVL1 in Human lymphocyte cell lysate. 700µg of cell lysate was incubated with primary antibody (5 µg/mg in abcam non-denaturing buffer) and matrix (Protein G) for 2 hours at 4°C. For western blot, ab54987 (1/1000) was used to confirm successful immunoprecipitation. Lane 1 - 25μg of lysate pre-IP, Lanes 2 and 3 -15μg of 70μg elution from matrix. 4-12% Bis-Tris gel.
