The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
1/20 - 1/50. Perform heat mediated antigen retrieval with citrate buffer pH 6 before commencing with IHC staining protocol. Use buffer at pH 6 for antigen retrieval.
Use a concentration of 1 - 4 µg/ml. The following is recommended: cell fixation with ice cold 4% paraformaldehyde pH 7.2-7.3, followed by permealization with 0.1% Triton X-100 in PBS for 3x5 minutes.
1/250 - 1/500.
FunctionOne of the essential components for the initiation of protein synthesis. Protects formylmethionyl-tRNA from spontaneous hydrolysis and promotes its binding to the 30S ribosomal subunits. Also involved in the hydrolysis of GTP during the formation of the 70S ribosomal complex.
Tissue specificityExpressed in all tissues examined. Highest level in skeletal muscle.
