Application Abreviews Notes
Flow Cyt Use 5µl for 106 cells. ab18434-Mouse monoclonal IgG1, is suitable for use as an isotype control with this antibody.

Target

  • RelevanceIgD has remained an enigmatic isotype since its discovery long ago. Like IgM, IgD is expressed as a transmembrane receptor on B cells of mouse and human. It constitutes 0.2% of the total serum immunoglobulin. It is, with IgM, the major membrane bound immunoglobulin expressed by mature B cells, but no effector function has been identified for it. Mice lacking IgD seem to retain normal immune responses. Antibodies to allotypic determinants can be made by injecting antibodies from one member of a species into another member of the same species who carries different allotypic determinants.
