- A candidate locus for schizophrenia
Researchers at Edinburgh University recently characterised the localisation of human DISC1 proteins in gross anatomy as well as in subcellular compartments. They show that expression of DISC1 proteins is widespread with no evidence for tissue-specific expression. The group's main finding, the predominant mitochondrial localisation of DISC1, is demonstrated using a mitochondrial marker antibody from Abcam.
