Costa Rica + Hilton Papagayo Resort | Costa Rica is located in Central America. Pura Vida or ‘pure life’ is the easiest way to sum up all that Costa Rica has to offer. The country covers just 0.1% of the planet’s land mass, yet is home to around 5% of the world’s biodiversity. The conference will take place in the region of Guanacaste which is located in the North-West of the country. The Hilton Papagayo Resort is located in a secluded, private bay on the Pacific Ocean at the Gulf of Papagayo, Guanacaste. The hotel has recently undergone refurbishment and all rooms feature a terrace or balcony with magnificent views of the tranquil azure waters of the Gulf of Papagayo or tropical gardens. | |
Travel options | Liberia International Airport is the closest airport to the venue, transfer time is approximately 15 minutes. It offers excellent connections to the US and Canada as well as some European countries. Major airlines include:
For those travelling from Europe who are unable to find direct flights, multiple connections daily are available through Miami and Houston. Flights to Liberia are approximately 2 hrs. *Please note transfers included in the registration fee are only valid for transfers to/from Liberia Airport. | |

Frequently asked questions | Internet Access Is available in all guest bedrooms. Extras The conference fee includes accommodation*, meals and beverages and conference social events. Telephone charges and other extras must be covered by delegates and you will be asked to provide credit card details upon check-in at the hotel to cover any such costs. Money and local information The local currency is the Costa Rican Colón, although US currency is widely accepted. Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa are all accepted; American Express slightly less so. ATMs are available in major resorts. Time zone: GMT -6 Health and insurance As before any travel, delegates are strongly advised to ensure they have adequate medical insurance and research any necessary vaccinations they may require; taking advice from relevant health care professionals. Bringing sufficient sun cream protection and mosquito repellent is a must. Delegates will be provided with emergency contact numbers upon registration at the conference.
