Antibody arrays allow the comparison of protein abundancies for hundreds of targets simultaneously, making it possible to characterize whole pathways, profile enzyme activities, identify biomarkers and even study post-translational modifications.

2. Send your samples to MicroBioChips - Cell pellets, tissue, cell culture supernatant, serum
3. Array production - Antibody spotting
4. Sample preparation and probing - Protein extraction, labeling and sample incubation
5. Array analysis - Data acquisition and analysis
6. Receive the results - Full secure and confidential report returned to you
   

Designing your array

Each array can contain up to 100 different antibody spots, in duplicate. Each slide contains 14 identical arrays, allowing for multiple sample analysis, in parallel

• Arrays are offered with different surfaces, depending on end-user needs: Nitrocellulose, Epoxy or equivalent
• Antibodies used must be in PBS buffer, with less than 20% glycerol and supplied in a concentration of >200 micrograms/ml
• Several controls are used in the array; housekeeping proteins for normalization, labeled proteins for spotting and BSA for non-specific background

Sample submission

A wide range of samples can be submitted including, but not limited to, cell pellets, tissue, cell culture supernatants, serum and extracted proteins.
Volumes required:

• >1x10⁶ cells, to provide >100 micrograms of total protein extract
• >10 milligrams of tissue, to provide >100 micrograms of total protein extract
• >20 microliters of serum
• >100 micrograms of extracted protein. Contact MicroBioChips for advice on acceptable buffer compositions for extracted proteins.
