BrdU, an analogue of thymidine, incorporates the newly synthesized DNA of replicating cells during the S-phase of the cell cycle. By using antibodies directing against BrdU, you can track if the cells are actively replicating their DNA.
Our BrdU kits and anti-BrdU primary antibodies allow the evaluation of cell proliferation as well as cell number, morphology, and analysis of cellular antigens.
BrdU kits
BrdU ELISA kits allow the quantification of BrdU incorporation into the newly synthesized DNA of actively proliferating cells. We offer two ways to assay for BrdU proliferation in low volume systems and in less than three hours.
- BrdU Cell Proliferation ELISA Kit (colorimetric) (ab126556)
- BrdU Cell Proliferation ELISA Kit (chemiluminescent) (ab126572)
The following BrdU IHC kit includes ready-to-use reagents, positive control and reference slides for the localization of DNA synthesis.
For the detecting of DNA fragmentation by fluorescence microscopy or flow cytometry, we offer:
Anti-BrdU primary antibodies
The detection of incorporated BrdU with specific anti-BrdU antibodies is an accurate and comprehensive method to quantitate the degree of DNA-synthesis. For example, the immunocytochemical detection of BrdU incorporated into DNA is a powerful tool to study the cytokinetics of normal and neoplastic cells.
