A selection of fluorescent dyes that are a valuable tool for producing high quality images and studying biological systems.

DRAQ5™ (ab108410):

  • Rapid nuclear staining of both live and fixed cells
  • No photobleaching effect – photo and chemically stable
  • Half scan times of Hoechst /DAPI
  • Spectral properties: Exmax 646nm; Emmax681/697nm intercalated with dsDNA

DRAQ7™ (ab109202):

  • Labels nuclei of dead and permeabilized cells
  • No photobleaching effect – photo and chemically stable
  • Compatible with FITC/PE stained samples
  • Spectral properties: Exmax 599/644nm; Emmax678/697nm intercalated with dsDNA (Instrument dependent)

CyTRAK Orange™ (ab109203):

  • Rapid labeling of both live and fixed cells
  • Differential nuclear and cytoplasmic staining
  • Multiple applications - nucleated cell gating in flow cytometry
  • Spectral properties: Exmax 515nm (457, 488 & 549); Emmax615nm

Hydroxystilbamidine (ab138870):

  • Emits different frequencies when bound to DNA & RNA
  • Can be used as a retrograde enhancer to label neurons
  • Increased flexibility - other histochemical applications and long post injection survival times
  • Spectral properties: Exmax 360nm; Emmax625nm

Nuclear yellow (Hoechst S769121) (ab138903):

  • Primarily stains the nucleus
  • Long wavelength tracer, can be combined with retrograde enhancers (e.g. True Blue) for neuronal mapping
  • Stable when subjected to immunohistochemical processing
  • Spectral properties: Exmax 355nm; Emmax495nm

Nuclear Green LCS1 (ab138904):

  • DNA selective dye for analyzing DNA content in living cells
  • Green fluorescence is significantly enhanced upon binding to dsDNA
  • Multiple applications - fluoresence imaging and flow cytometry
  • Spectral properties: Exmax 503nm; Emmax526nm

Nuclear Green DCS1 (ab138905):

  • DNA selective dye for analyzing DNA content in dead fixed or apoptotic cells
