Target

  • FunctionComponent of the HBO1 complex which has a histone H4-specific acetyltransferase activity, a reduced activity toward histone H3 and is responsible for the bulk of histone H4 acetylation in vivo. Component of the MOZ/MORF complex which has a histone H3 acetyltransferase activity. Through chromatin acetylation it may regulate DNA replication and may function as a transcriptional coactivator.
  • Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the ING family.
    Contains 1 PHD-type zinc finger.
  • DomainThe PHD-type zinc finger mediates the binding to H3K4me3.
  • Cellular localizationNucleus.

  • Predicted band size : 28 kDa

ING5 antibody (ab3716) was used at 1:500 and detected using chemiluminescence reagent. Exposure 5 minutes.

    Lane 1: Mock purification
Lane 2: Purified TAP tagged ING4 protein
Lane 3: Purified TAP tagged ING5 from Hela nuclear exracts.

This WB shows the ING5 Ab working on purified material. ab3716 does not recognize ING4 on the same membrane which shows the antibody is specific as ING4 and ING5 are very similar proteins.

ING5 is detected at 44kD due to the TAP tag (predicted size is 28kD).
