ICC/IF Use a concentration of 1 µg/ml.
WB Use a concentration of 1 - 5 µg/ml. Predicted molecular weight: 44 kDa. Good results were obtained when blocked with 5% non-fat dry milk in 0.05% PBS-T.
IHC-P Use a concentration of 4 - 8 µg/ml.


  • FunctionTranscription regulatory factor that mediates signaling by type I IFNs (IFN-alpha and IFN-beta). Following type I IFN binding to cell surface receptors, Jak kinases (TYK2 and JAK1) are activated, leading to tyrosine phosphorylation of STAT1 and STAT2. The phosphorylated STATs dimerize, associate with IRF9/ISGF3G to form a complex termed ISGF3 transcription factor, that enters the nucleus. ISGF3 binds to the IFN stimulated response element (ISRE) to activate the transcription of interferon stimulated genes, which drive the cell in an antiviral state.

Anti-Interferon regulatory factor 9 antibody images

  • Anti-Interferon regulatory factor 9 antibody (ab51639) at 1 µg/ml + HepG2 cell lysate at 15 µg

    HRP conjugated anti-Rabbit IgG at 1/50000 dilution

    Predicted band size : 44 kDa
    Observed band size : 41 kDa (why is the actual band size different from the predicted?)
  • ICC/IF image of ab51639 stained HeLa cells. The cells were 4% formaldehyde fixed (10 min) and then incubated in 1%BSA / 10% normal goat serum / 0.3M glycine in 0.1% PBS-Tween for 1h to permeabilise the cells and block non-specific protein-protein interactions. The cells were then incubated with the antibody (ab51639, 1µg/ml) overnight at +4°C. The secondary antibody (green) was ab96899, DyLight® 488 goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) used at a 1/250 dilution for 1h. Alexa Fluor® 594 WGA was used to label plasma membranes (red) at a 1/200 dilution for 1h. DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclei (blue) at a concentration of 1.43µM.
