The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
1/1000. Predicted molecular weight: 102 kDa.
FunctionMediates the voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Channels open or close in response to the voltage difference across the membrane, letting potassium ions pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient.
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the potassium channel family. B (Shab) (TC 1.A.1.2) subfamily. Kv2.2/KCNB2 sub-subfamily.
DomainThe segment S4 is probably the voltage-sensor and is characterized by a series of positively charged amino acids at every third position. The tail may be important in modulation of channel activity and/or targeting of the channel to specific subcellular compartments.
Immunohistochemistry (PFA perfusion fixed frozen sections) - Anti-Kv2.2 antibody (ab37195)This image is courtesy of an abreview submitted by Karine Thibault, CNRS, Paris, France
Immunohistochemistical detection of Kv2.2 antibody (ab37195) in PFA perfusion-fixed rat cortex sections. ab37195 was used at a dilution of 1/800, incubated for 18 hours @ 20°C in PBS-T 0.3%. Secondary antibody: Alexa Fluor® 488 anti-IgG Rabbit (1/1000). The staining is located in the processes of some neurons as expected.
