The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Use a concentration of 1 - 2 µg/ml. Predicted molecular weight: 45 kDa.
Use a concentration of 5 µg/ml. Perform heat mediated antigen retrieval with citrate buffer pH 6 before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
Use at an assay dependent concentration.
Implicated in tumor cell metastasis. May function in protection of the lysosomal membrane from autodigestion, maintenance of the acidic environment of the lysosome, adhesion when expressed on the cell surface (plasma membrane), and inter- and intracellular signal transduction. Protects cells from the toxic effects of methylating mutagens.
Isoform LAMP-2A is highly expressed in placenta, lung and liver, less in kidney and pancreas, low in brain and skeletal muscle. Isoform LAMP-2B is highly expressed in skeletal muscle, less in brain, placenta, lung, kidney and pancreas, very low in liver.
Involvement in disease
Belongs to the LAMP family.
O- and N-glycosylated; some of the 16 N-linked glycans are polylactosaminoglycans.
Cell membrane. Endosome membrane. Lysosome membrane. This protein shuttles between lysosomes, endosomes, and the plasma membrane.

ab118959 staining LAMP2B in Human DU145 prostate cells by ICC/IF (Immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence). Cells were fixed with paraformaldehyde, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100, pH 7.4 for 5 minutes and blocked with 5% BSA for 20 minutes at room temperature. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/200 in PBS) for 1 hour. A CF568-conjugated Donkey anti-rabbit IgG polyclonal (1/500) was used as the secondary antibody.
ab118959 at 5µg/ml staining Lamp2B in Human placenta tissue by immunohistochemistry (FFPE). Following primary incubation slides were incubated with biotinylated goat anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody, alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.
