Legionella is a Gram-negative bacillus having motility through flagella and is the causative agent of legionellosis. Legionella micdadei is the second most commonly isolated member of the Legionella family. The bacterium can cause flu like symptoms and pneumonia, including Pittsburgh pneumonia.
