SpecificityRC38 stains over 95% of primary renal cell carcinomas and 60% of metastases of renal cell carcinoma and glomerular visceral epithelium and proximal tubules in normal kidney (cytoplasmic). It does not stain epithelial cells of non renal malignancies.
A mouse was immunized with renal cell carcinoma homogenate.
After fusing the spleen cells from this mouse with myeloma cells, antibody producing cells were screened on thin sections of various human tissues.
Storage instructionsShipped at 4°C. Store at +4°C short term (1-2 weeks). Upon delivery aliquot. Store at -20°C or -80°C. Avoid freeze / thaw cycle.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Application notesIHC-Fr: Use at an assay dependent concentration.
Supernatant: for frozen tissue sections it can be diluted 1:20 in PBS/1%BSA.
Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
FunctionActs as an endocytic receptor to direct captured antigens from the extracellular space to a specialized antigen-processing compartment (By similarity). Causes reduced proliferation of B-lymphocytes.
Tissue specificityExpressed in spleen, thymus, colon and peripheral blood lymphocytes. Detected in myeloid and B lymphoid cell lines. Isoform 2 and isoform 3 are expressed in malignant Hodgkin lymphoma cells called Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg (HRS) cells.
