Mouse monoclonal [MS gp2] to Lymphocytes+Langerhans cells
Specificityab27922 recognises an antigen on the majority of T and B lymphocytes and thymocytes, and it reacts strongly with epidermal Langerhans cells, giving a superior profile than anti MHC Class II antibodies on these cells. The antigen recognised by ab27922 is not expressed by germinal centre cells of the lymph node.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Application notes IHC-Fr: Use at an assay dependent dilution.
Is unsuitable for ELISA, FACS, IHC-P, IHC-R, IP, Inhib, RIA or WB. Does not functionally inhibit lymphocyte adherence to high endothelial venules in vitro.
Not yet tested in other applications.

RelevanceLymphocytes have receptors for antigen and confer specificity on an immune response. Lymphocytes express receptors with varying affinity for the antigen in question. Langerhans Cells are present in the skin and process efficiently antigen but cannot present it to T cells. Langerhans cells have been shown to pick up antigen in skin and carry it via afferent lymphatic vessels to lymph nodes.
