Mouse monoclonal [MS gp2] to Lymphocytes+Langerhans cells
ab27922 recognises an antigen on the majority of T and B lymphocytes and thymocytes, and it reacts strongly with epidermal Langerhans cells, giving a superior profile than anti MHC Class II antibodies on these cells. The antigen recognised by ab27922 is not expressed by germinal centre cells of the lymph node.

Lymphocytes have receptors for antigen and confer specificity on an immune response. Lymphocytes express receptors with varying affinity for the antigen in question. Langerhans Cells are present in the skin and process efficiently antigen but cannot present it to T cells. Langerhans cells have been shown to pick up antigen in skin and carry it via afferent lymphatic vessels to lymph nodes.
