FunctionHas transacylase and calcium-independent phospholipase A2 activity. Catalyzes the formation of 1-O-acyl-N-acetylsphingosine and the concomitant release of a lyso-phospholipid (By similarity). May have weak lysophospholipase activity.
Tissue specificityHighly expressed in heart, placenta, skeletal muscle, kidney and pancreas. Detected at lower levels in spleen, thymus, prostate, testis, ovary, small intestine, colon and peripheral blood leukocytes.
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the AB hydrolase superfamily. Lipase family.
