Protein A purified
This antibody will stain neuronal cell bodies and dendritic processes, and will not stain glial cells or axons. It is the best marker to distinguish dendrites from axons in the brain.

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab24645 in the following tested applications.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
WB: 1/1000. Predicted molecular weight: 280 kDa (MAP2 is made up of two ~280kDa apparent molecular weight bands referred to as MAP2a and MAP2b. A third lower molecular weight form, usually called MAP2c, corresponds to a pair of protein bands running at ~70kDa on SDS-PAGE gels).
Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
The exact function of MAP2 is unknown but MAPs may stabilize the microtubules against depolymerization. They also seem to have a stiffening effect on microtubules.
Contains 3 Tau/MAP repeats.
MAP2A/c is phosphorylated. Phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR.
Cytoplasm > cytoskeleton.
