Tight junctions (TJ) prevent leakage of solutes through the paracellular pathway of epithelial cells. MARVELD2, or tricellulin (TRIC), is an integral membrane protein concentrated at the vertically oriented TJ strands of tricellular contacts. It plays a role in the formation of the epithelial barriers.

Detection of human MARVELD2 in immunoprecipitates of whole cell lysate from HeLa cells (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) using ab80421 at 3 µg/mg lysate for IP (lane 1).
