May regulate tyrosine kinase activity of SRC-family members in brain by specifically phosphorylating their C-terminal regulatory tyrosine residue which acts as a negative regulatory site. It may play an inhibitory role in the control of T-cell proliferation.

ab37824, at a 1/50 dilution, staining MATK in Human hepatocarcinoma by Immunohistochemistry, Formalin fixed and Paraffin embedded tissue. ab37284 was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by AEC staining.
This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.
