  • Description
    Rabbit polyclonal to MCP1
  • SpecificityThe antibody reacts with human MCP-1 both natural and recombinant. The antigen specificity was assessed by ELISA. The antigen specificity was further assessed by immunoprecipitation and Western blot. No cross-reactivities with other cytokines have been detected.
  • Tested applicationsSuitable for: Neutralising, WB, ELISA, Inhibition Assay, IHC-Fr, ICCmore details
  • Species reactivity
    Reacts with: Human, Pig
  • Positive control
  • General notesHuman monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) is also known as MCAF.

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab7814 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Abreviews Notes
Neutralising Use at an assay dependent concentration. For neutralization of biological activity in vitro dilutions have to be made according to the amount of MCP-1 to be inactivated. Before use in biological assays, the product must be filter sterilized and depending on the concentration to be used dialyzed against culture medium to remove the sodium azide added.
WB 1/10. Predicted molecular weight: 11.9 kDa.
ELISA Use at an assay dependent concentration. PubMed: 24413421
Inhibition Assay 1/10.
IHC-Fr 1/10.
ICC 1/10.

  • FunctionChemotactic factor that attracts monocytes and basophils but not neutrophils or eosinophils. Augments monocyte anti-tumor activity. Has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases characterized by monocytic infiltrates, like psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis or atherosclerosis. May be involved in the recruitment of monocytes into the arterial wall during the disease process of atherosclerosis.
  • Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.
  • Post-translational
Processing at the N-terminus can regulate receptor and target cell selectivity. Deletion of the N-terminal residue converts it from an activator of basophil to an eosinophil chemoattractant.

This antibody has not been tested on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissues, therefore we can't guarantee results.

We have two antibodies to MCP-1: this one which has only been tested on human tissue, and ab7202 which is reactive to both rat and mouse (although again not tested on rabbits). We cannot guarantee that either of these will work on rabbit.
