The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Abreviews Notes
WB Use a concentration of 1 µg/ml. Predicted molecular weight: 52 kDa. for 2 hours. This antibody has been tested in Western blot against the recombinant peptide used as an immunogen. We have no data on detection of endogenous protein.
ELISA 1/2000 - 1/5000.

Target

  • FunctionProton-linked monocarboxylate transporter. Catalyzes the rapid transport across the plasma membrane of many monocarboxylates such as lactate, pyruvate, branched-chain oxo acids derived from leucine, valine and isoleucine, and the ketone bodies acetoacetate, beta-hydroxybutyrate and acetate. MCT2 is a high affinity pyruvate transporter.
  • Tissue specificityHigh expression in testis, moderate to low in spleen, heart, kidney, pancreas, skeletal muscle, brain and Leukocyte. Restricted expression in normal tissues, but widely expressed in cancer cells.
  • Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the major facilitator superfamily. Monocarboxylate porter (TC 2.A.1.13) family.
  • Cellular localizationCell membrane.
