    This antibody gave a positive result in ELISA against the immunizing peptide (ab58444).
    Not yet tested in other applications.

    • Function
      Component of the Mediator complex, a coactivator involved in the regulated transcription of nearly all RNA polymerase II-dependent genes. Mediator functions as a bridge to convey information from gene-specific regulatory proteins to the basal RNA polymerase II transcription machinery. Mediator is recruited to promoters by direct interactions with regulatory proteins and serves as a scaffold for the assembly of a functional preinitiation complex with RNA polymerase II and the general transcription factors.

    This Fast-Track antibody is not yet fully characterised. These images represent inconclusive preliminary data.

    • ICC/IF image of ab49271 stained MCF7 cells. The cells were 4% PFA fixed (10 min), permabilised in 0.1% PBS-Tween (20 min) and incubated with the antibody (ab49271, 1µg/ml) for 1h at room temperature. 1%BSA / 10% normal goat serum / 0.3M glycine was used to block non-specific protein-protein interactions. The secondary antibody (green) was Alexa Fluor® 488 goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) used at a 1/1000 dilution for 1h. Alexa Fluor® 594 WGA was used to label plasma membranes (red). DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclei (blue). This antibody also gave a positive IF result in HeLa, Hek293 and HepG2 cells fixed in 4% PFA at 1ug/ml. However, this Fast-Track antibody is not yet fully characterised. This image represents inconclusive preliminary data.

      Additional bands at : 50 kDa. We are unsure as to the identity of these extra bands.
