WB Use a concentration of 1 µg/ml. Predicted molecular weight: 84 kDa. Good results were obtained when blocked with 5% non-fat dry milk in 0.05% PBS-T.

Target

  • FunctionEssential transmembrane GTPase, which mediates mitochondrial fusion. Fusion of mitochondria occurs in many cell types and constitutes an important step in mitochondria morphology, which is balanced between fusion and fission. MFN1 acts independently of the cytoskeleton. Overexpression induces the formation of mitochondrial networks.
  • Tissue specificityUbiquitous. Expressed at slightly higher level in kidney and heart. Isoform 2 may be overexpressed in some tumors, such as lung cancers.

Anti-Mitofusin 1 antibody images

  • ab104274 staining Mitofusin 1 in the H9C2 cell line from Rat heart by ICC/IF (Immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence). Cells were fixed with paraformaldehyde, permeabilized with Triton X-100 1%  and blocked with 5% Serum for 60 minutes at 21°C. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/200 in PBS + 5% Goat serum) for 2 hours at 21°C. AnAlexa Fluor®488-conjugated Goat anti-rabbit IgG polyclonal (1/400) was used as the secondary antibody.

  • Immunofluorescence analysis of HEK293 cells, staining Mitofusin 1 with ab104274.

    Cells were fixed with formaldehyde, permeabilized with 1% Triton X-100 and blocked with 5% serum for 1 hour at room temperature. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/200 in 5% horse serum) for 1 hour at room temperature. An AlexaFluor®488-conjugated goat anti-rabbit polyclonal IgG was used as the secondary antibody.
