The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Application notesIHC-P: Ready diluted for 10 min at RT. No special pretreatment is required for the immunohistochemical staining of formalin/paraffin tissues.
Not tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
FunctionEndopeptidase that degrades various components of the extracellular matrix. May activate progelatinase A.
Tissue specificityAppeared to be synthesized preferentially in liver, placenta, testis, colon and intestine. Substantial amounts are also detected in pancreas, kidney, lung, heart and skeletal muscle.
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the peptidase M10A family. Contains 4 hemopexin-like domains.
DomainThe conserved cysteine present in the cysteine-switch motif binds the catalytic zinc ion, thus inhibiting the enzyme. The dissociation of the cysteine from the zinc ion upon the activation-peptide release activates the enzyme.
Post-translational modificationsThe precursor is cleaved by a furin endopeptidase.
