Specificityab38916 recognises the Hinge region of MMP3. It does not cross react with the other Stromelysin forms (Stromelysin 2 and Stromelysin 3), nor to the other MMP family members (MMP1, MMP2, MMP9, etc). ab38916 does not recognize the 21 Kd active form.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Application notesWB: 1/1000 when using colorimetric substrates such as BCIP/NBT - 1/5000 when using chemiluminescent substrates. Predicted molecular weight: 54 kDa. But note that when used against the reduced protein, ab38916 identifies bands at 59 Kd and 57 Kd (the pro-form), as well as active forms. The antibody does not recognize the 21 Kd active form. Stromelysin levels in quiescent cells and tissues are minimal, and stimulation or protein concentration is often needed to visualize the bands. Dilution optimised using Chromogenic detection. Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
