  • Description
    Goat polyclonal to MYRIP
  • Tested applicationsSuitable for: WB, IP, ICC/IFmore details
  • Species reactivity
    Reacts with: Human
  • Immunogen

Synthetic peptide: KDLMEPALESAVMY, corresponding to C terminal amino acids 846-859 of Human MYRIP.

  • General notes

A molecular complex composed of Rab27A, MYRIP and myosin VIIa bridges retinal melanosomes to the actin cytoskeleton and thereby mediates the local trafficking of these organelles. The defect of this molecular complex is likely to account for the perinuclear mislocalization of the melanosomes observed in the retinal pigment epithelium cells of myosin VIIa-defective mice.

Target

  • FunctionRab effector protein involved in melanosome transport. Serves as link between melanosome-bound RAB27A and the motor proteins MYO5A and MYO7A. May link RAB27A-containing vesicles to actin filaments.
  • Tissue specificityDetected in brain, skin, heart, adrenal medulla, pancreas, intestine, liver, kidney, muscle and testis.
  • Sequence similaritiesContains 1 FYVE-type zinc finger.
    Contains 1 RabBD (Rab-binding) domain.
  • Cellular localizationCytoplasm. In pre- and post-synaptic areas in photoreceptor cells and in the basal microvilli of retinal pigment epithelium cells. Associated with melanosomes. Colocalizes with actin filaments.
