Anti-Neuron navigator 1 antibody (ab32209)

Overview

  • Product nameAnti-Neuron navigator 1 antibody
See all Neuron navigator 1 primary antibodies
  • Description
Rabbit polyclonal to Neuron navigator 1

This product is a fast track antibody. It has been affinity purified and shows high titre values against the immunizing peptide by ELISA. Read the terms of use »

  • SpecificityWe have tested Rabbit polyclonal to Neuron navigator 1 (ab32209) in Western Blot on adult mouse heart lysate, we do not detect the full length protein (202 kDa) in this lysate, however we do detect two fragments corresponding to Neuron navigator 1 (58 kDa and 64 kDa; data not shown). As Neuron navigator 1 protein is primarily expressed in development, we would appreciate any testing feedback in more appropriate positive control tissue.
  • Species reactivity

Predicted to work with: Mouse, Rat, Human
  • Immunogen

Synthetic peptide conjugated to KLH derived from within residues 1850 to the C-terminus of Mouse Neuron navigator 1.

    (Peptide available as ab32208.)

Properties

Applications

  • Application notesThis antibody gave a positive result in ELISA against the immunizing peptide (ab32208).
Not yet tested in other applications.
  • Target

    • RelevanceThe development of the nervous system (NS) requires the coordinated migration of multiple waves of neurons and subsequent processes of neurite maturation, both involving selective guidance mechanisms. In Caenorhabditis elegans, unc-53 codes for a new multidomain protein involved in the directional migration of a subset of cells. We describe here the first functional characterization of the mouse homologue, mouse Neuron navigator 1 (mNAV1) expression is primarily restricted to the CNS during development. mNAV1 is a microtubules associated protein. The abolition of mNAV1 causes loss of directionality in the leading processes of pontine-migrating cells, providing evidence for a role of mNAV1 in mediating (Netrin1-induced) directional migration.
    • Cellular localizationCytoplasm › cytoskeleton. Note: Associates with a subset of microtubule plus ends. Enriched in neuronal growth cone.
