Ab37287 reacts with the beta subunit of nitrite oxidoreductase from at least 4 different species of Nitrobacter (Nb): Nb hamburgensis X14, Nb winogradskyi Engel, Nb vulgaris T3, Nb alkalicus AN4 and Nb BS 5/6. Ab37287 also reacts with unidentified proteins from Nitrospina 347.
Nitrite Oxidoreductase purified from N. hamburgensis.
Storage instructionsShipped at 4°C. Store at +4°C short term (1-2 weeks). Store at -20°C or -80°C. Avoid freeze / thaw cycle.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Use at an assay dependent dilution. Predicted molecular weight: 65 kDa.
RelevanceNitrite oxidoreductase (NOR) is an enzyme catalysing the oxidation of nitrite and is located at the inner side of the cytoplasmic and intracytoplasmic membranes of Nitrobacter species. Nitrite Oxidoreductase from N. hamburgensis consists of at least two major subunits, a-NOR and ß-NOR, with molecular masses of ~130 kDa and 65 kDa respectively. The Nitrobacter species are gram-negative microorganisms ubiquitous in nature and gain energy from the oxidation of nitrite to nitrate.
Cellular localizationCytoplasmic and intracytoplasmic membranes.
