Overview

  • Product name
  • Description
    Rabbit polyclonal to Noxa
  • Specificity
ab23563 recognises a 16.5kDa Noxa molecule. Western Blot analysis of cells infected with Noxa adenoviruses and BAF indicates a high level of specificity for this antiserum,
  • Tested applications
    Suitable for: WBmore details
  • Species reactivity
    Reacts with: Mouse
  • Immunogen

    Synthetic peptide:

    CAQLRRIGDKVNLRQK

, corresponding to C terminal amino acids 75/90 of Mouse Noxa, coupled to Diphtheria Toxoid via a cysteine molecule added at the amino terminal of the peptide sequence.

Target

  • Function
Promotes activation of caspases and apoptosis. Promotes mitochondrial membrane changes and efflux of apoptogenic proteins from the mitochondria. Contributes to p53/TP53-dependent apoptosis after radiation exposure. Promotes proteasomal degradation of MCL1. Competes with BAK1 for binding to MCL1 and can displace BAK1 from its binding site on MCL1 (By similarity). Competes with BIM/BCL2L11 for binding to MCL1 and can displace BIM/BCL2L11 from its binding site on MCL1.
  • Tissue specificity
Highly expressed in adult T-cell leukemia cell line.
  • Sequence similarities
    Belongs to the PMAIP1 family.
  • Domain
The BH3 motif is essential for pro-apoptotic activity.
  • Cellular localization
    Mitochondrion.
