Obestin is a brand name of Phentermine, an appetite suppressant, belonging to the amphetamine and phenethylamine class.
It stimulates neuron bundles to release the neurotransmitters Catecholamines. The neurotransmitters signal a fight or flight response in the body which, in turn, puts a halt to the hunger signal and results in a loss in appetite because the brain does not receive the hunger message.
