Question 1

Wednesday 31-January-2007

We are working on chromatin remodelling factors in drosophila. I'll be interested in a CAF-1 antibody and I would like to test if the product ab24746 is cross reacting also in the flies. Would it be possible to receive a free aliquot for testing? Obviously in case of positive results I will provide blots and staining pictures as documentation. Many thanks in advance

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry.

We do not routinely offer free or trial sized samples for testing purposes. Our policy at Abcam is that if an antibody does not work as specified on the datasheet, we will offer a replacement or reimbursement. However, we do occasionally consider free samples in return for feedback of how the antibody behaves. On this occasion I cannot offer you a free of charge antibody in view of the poor sequence similarity between the immunogen used to raise this antibody (purified human CAF-1 protein) and the Drosophila homolog;

I am sorry that I cannot be of more assistance on this occasion.
