Sandwich ELISA Use at an assay dependent dilution. Can be paired for Sandwich ELISA with Mouse monoclonal [10H9] to PAPP A (HRP) (ab10195) and Mouse monoclonal [3C8] to PAPP A (HRP) (ab24463). Recommended for the detection of htPAPP-A antigen in pregnancy serum and the detection of dPAPP-A antigen in blood of patients with unstable angina. Can be used as capture antibody in conjunction with ab10195 and ab24463.
ELISA Use at an assay dependent dilution. Can be paired for ELISA with Mouse monoclonal [10H9] to PAPP A (HRP) (ab10195).
WB Use at an assay dependent dilution. Detects a band of approximately 500 kDa.

Target

  • FunctionMetalloproteinase which specifically cleaves IGFBP-4 and IGFBP-5, resulting in release of bound IGF. Cleavage of IGFBP-4 is dramatically enhanced by the presence of IGF, whereas cleavage of IGFBP-5 is slightly inhibited by the presence of IGF.
  • Tissue specificityHigh levels in placenta and pregnancy serum. In placenta, expressed in X cells in septa and anchoring villi, and in syncytiotrophoblasts in the chorionic villi. Lower levels are found in a variety of other tissues including kidney, myometrium, endometrium, ovaries, breast, prostate, bone marrow, colon, fibroblasts and osteoblasts.
