Batches of this product that have a concentration < 1mg/ml may have BSA added as a stabilising agent. If you would like information about the formulation of a specific lot, please contact our scientific support team who will be happy to help.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
1/40. Perform heat mediated antigen retrieval before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
Use a concentration of 0.4 µg/ml. Detects a band of approximately 73 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 73 kDa).
FunctionSequesters mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) such as MAPK1, MAPK3 and MAPK14 in the cytoplasm in an inactive form. The MAPKs bind to a dephosphorylated kinase interacting motif, phosphorylation of which by the protein kinase A complex releases the MAPKs for activation and translocation into the nucleus.
Tissue specificityExpressed in brain, placenta, small intestine, stomach, uterus and weakly in the prostate. Isoform alpha has been observed only in the brain. Isoform gamma is expressed in brain, placenta and uterus. Isoform delta is expressed in brain, kidney, placenta, prostate, small intestine and uterus.
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family. Receptor class 7 subfamily. Contains 1 tyrosine-protein phosphatase domain.
Cellular localizationCell membrane and Cytoplasm > perinuclear region. Locates to the perinuclear areas within the cytoplasm.
ab12153 staining PCPTP1 in Human cerebellum. The paraffin embedded tissue was incubated with ab12153 (1/40 dilution) for 30 mins at room temperature. Antigen retrieval was performed by heat induction in citrate buffer pH 6. ab12153 was tested in a tissue microarray (TMA) containing a wide range of normal and cancer tissues as well as a cell microarray consisting of a range of commonly used, well characterised human cell lines.
