|
| Application notes (see key) | Recommended dilutions WB: 1/1000 - 1/5000. Predicted molecular weight: 74 kDa. Recommended starting dilution 1/1000 with colourimetrtic substrates, 1/5000 with chemiluminescent substrates. Dilution optimised using Chromogenic detection. Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. The 692 amino acid form has a predicted mass of 74.49 kDa, and a pI of 6.09, but glycosylation and other post-translational modifications make the pre-pro PC9 run at 78-80 kDa, the mature PC9 at 58 kDa |

| Relevance | PCSK9 is a proprotein convertase belonging to the proteinase K subfamily of the secretory subtilase family. PCSK9 is synthesized as a soluble zymogen that undergoes autocatalytic intramolecular processing in the endoplasmic reticulum. PCSK9 may function as a proprotein convertase. PCSK9 plays a role in cholesterol homeostasis and may have a role in the differentiation of cortical neurons. Mutations in PCSK9 gene have been associated with a third form of autosomal dominant familial hypercholesterolemia. |
