  • RelevanceAlbumin is a soluble, monomeric protein that makes up about half of the blood serum protein. It is a carrier protein for steroids, fatty acids, and thyroid hormones and also plays a role in stabilizing extracellular fluid volume. Albumin is synthesized in the liver as preproalbumin which has an N-terminal peptide that is removed before the nascent protein is released from the rough endoplasmic reticulum. The product, proalbumin, is in turn cleaved in the Golgi vesicles to produce the secreted albumin.

Anti-Pig Albumin antibody images

  • ab79960 staining Pig Albumin in pig kidney tissue sections by Immunohistochemistry (IHC-P - paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections). Tissue was fixed with formaldehyde and blocked with 10% serum for 30 minutes at 22°C; antigen retrieval was by heat mediation. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/500) for 1 hour at 22°C. An undiluted Alkaline Phosphatase-conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG polyclonal was used as the secondary antibody.
