    Reacts well in ELISA both as catching antibody and as detection antibody. It can neutralize concentrated polio virus type 2 for at least 12 days.

      Polio (acute poliomyelitis, infantile paralysis) is caused by the poliovirus, which may infect the nervous system and cause lasting paralysis. Poliovirus is a single stranded RNA virus and a member of the Picornavirus family. It has three strains: Poliovirus 1, 2 and 3. Replication of poliovirus RNA is accomplished by the error prone viral RNA dependent RNA polymerase. The cell receptor for poliovirus is CD155.
