Target

  • FunctionNuclear receptor that binds peroxisome proliferators such as hypolipidemic drugs and fatty acids. Once activated by a ligand, the nuclear receptor binds to DNA specific PPAR response elements (PPRE) and modulates the transcription of its target genes, such as acyl-CoA oxidase. It therefore controls the peroxisomal beta-oxidation pathway of fatty acids. Key regulator of adipocyte differentiation and glucose homeostasis. ARF6 acts as a key regulator of the tissue-specific adipocyte P2 (aP2) enhancer. Acts as a critical regulator of gut homeostasis by suppressing NF-kappa-B-mediated proinflammatory responses.
  • Tissue specificityHighest expression in adipose tissue. Lower in skeletal muscle, spleen, heart and liver. Also detectable in placenta, lung and ovary.

Anti-PPAR gamma 2 antibody - ChIP Grade images

Formalin-fixed cells were permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in TBS for 5-10 minutes, and blocked with 3% BSA-PBS for 30 minutes at room temperature. Cells were incubated with the primary antibody (1:200 in 3% BSA-PBS) overnight at 4 ºC. A DyLight 488-conjugated Goat-anti-rabbit IgG was used as the secondary antibody. Red (phalloidin) - F-actin, Blue (DAPI) - nuclei. Images were taken at a magnification of 60x.
