Replace your polyclonal antibodies

With polyclonal supply and specificity becoming growing concerns, we have a number of upgrade options to keep your data consistent and accurate.

A large number of polyclonal antibodies from other suppliers will soon be unavailable, potentially delaying your research. However, we have many great alternatives.

The top-cited anti-ERK1 antibody, for example, will be discontinued by another antibody supplier by 2017. In addition to its limited supply, this antibody cross-reacts with other proteins (figure 1), making your data harder to accurately interpret.

Figure 1. Western blot results for another supplier's top-cited anti-ERK1 antibody. Predicted band size: 43 kDa. Lanes 1, 3 and 5: Wild-type HAP1 cell lysate (20 µg). Lanes 2, 4 and 6: ERK1 knockout HAP1 cell lysate (20 µg). Lanes 1 and 2: green signal from top-cited anti-ERK1 antibody. Lanes 3 and 4: red signal from loading control (ab8245). Lanes 5 and 6: merged (red and green) signal.

As a replacement for this, we have an anti-ERK1 RabMAb® rabbit monoclonal that has been knockout validated with CRISPR technology. Not only does offer highly specific binding (figure 2), but provides you with consistent batch-to-batch results and a guaranteed security of supply.

Figure 2. Left: western blot results from our anti-ERK1 antibody (ab32537). Predicted band size: 43 kDa. Lanes 1, 3 and 5: wild-type HAP1 cell lysate (20 µg). Lanes 2, 4 and 6: ERK1 knockout HAP1 cell lysate (20 µg). Lanes 1 and 2: green signal from target (ab32537) observed at 42 kDa. Lanes 3 and 4: red signal from loading control (ab8226) observed at 42 kDa. Lanes 5 and 6: merged (red and green) signal. Right: immunocytochemistry data from our anti-ERK1 antibody (ab32537) in wild-type HAP1 cells (top panel) and ERK1 knockout HAP1 cells (bottom panel). DNA labeled in blue with DAPI.
