Biological descriptionNegative control molecule for use with MiTMAB™ ab120466 and OcTMAB™ ab120467. Pro-myristic acid is an in vitro inhibitor of dynamin I and II, targeting the PH (lipid binding) domain (IC50 = 9.2 µM for inhibition of dynamin I GTPase). Although cell-permeable, it is rapidly broken down by cellular esterases to release intracellular myristic acid, which is not a dynamin inhibitor (IC50 = ≥300 μM for receptor-mediated endocytosis). It can therefore be used as a negative control in cell-based studies with MiTMAB™ and/or OcTMAB™.

Storage instructionsStore at Room Temperature. The product can be stored for up to 12 months.
Solubility overviewSoluble in DMSO to 25 mM and in ethanol to 100 mM
Wherever possible, you should prepare and use solutions on the same day. However, if you need to make up stock solutions in advance, we recommend that you store the solution as aliquots in tightly sealed vials at -20°C. Generally, these will be useable for up to one month. Before use, and prior to opening the vial we recommend that you allow your product to equilibrate to room temperature for at least 1 hour.
