Potassium channel toxin alpha KTx 15.1
RelevanceAa1 is a peptide toxin purified from scorpion venom. It is a blocker of A-type voltage-gated potassium channels of cerebellar granular cells. The occlusion of the outer entry of the K(+) conducting pore is partially reversible and affects both open and closed channels. It shares the same target in rat brain as BmTX3 (M.martensii), and AmmTX3 (A.mauretanicus). Originally isolated from Androctonus australis scorpion venom.
