Specifications

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab124320 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

  • Applications

    Western blot

    ELISA

    SDS-PAGE

  • Purity
    > 90 % SDS-PAGE.
ab124320 was purifed using Ni-NTA chromatography. The product is filtered (0.4 µm) but not sterile, hence needs to be filtered by an appropriate sterile filter before using in cell culture.
  • Form
    Lyophilised
  • Additional notes
Store lyophilized protein at -80°C. Lyophilized protein remains stable until the expiry date when stored at -80°C. Avoid storage of lyophilized product at room temperature. Aliquot reconstituted protein to avoid repeated freezing/thawing cycles and store at -80°C for long term. Reconstituted protein can be stored at 4°C for a week. Warning: avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles of solubilized protein.

Preparation and Storage

  • Stability and Storage

Shipped at 4°C. Store at -80°C.

    pH: 4.00
    Constituent: 99% Sodium acetate

  • Reconstitution
Add 0.1 M Acetate buffer pH 4.0 to prepare a working stock solution of 0.5 mg/mL and let the lyophilized pellet dissolve completely. For conversion into higher pH value, we recommend intensive dilution by relevant buffer to a concentration of 10 µg/mL. In higher concentrations the solubility of this antigen is limited.

  • Function
Plays a major role in tight junction-specific obliteration of the intercellular space.
  • Involvement in disease
Note=CLDN4 is located in the Williams-Beuren syndrome (WBS) critical region. WBS results from a hemizygous deletion of several genes on chromosome 7q11.23, thought to arise as a consequence of unequal crossing over between highly homologous low-copy repeat sequences flanking the deleted region.
  • Sequence similarities
    Belongs to the claudin family.
  • Cellular localization
Cell junction > tight junction. Cell membrane.
  • Information by UniProt
