Stability and Storage
Shipped on dry ice. Upon delivery aliquot and store at -80ºC. Avoid freeze / thaw cycles.
pH: 8.00 Constituents: 0.3% Glutathione, 0.79% Tris HCl
Anandamide amidohydrolase 1
Fatty acid 2-hydroxylase
Fatty acid alpha-hydroxylase
Fatty acid amide hydrolase
Fatty-acid amide hydrolase 1
Oleamide hydrolase 1
FunctionDegrades bioactive fatty acid amides like oleamide, the endogenous cannabinoid, anandamide and myristic amide to their corresponding acids, thereby serving to terminate the signaling functions of these molecules. Hydrolyzes polyunsaturated substrate anandamide preferentially as compared to monounsaturated substrates.
Tissue specificityHighly expressed in the brain, small intestine, pancreas, skeletal muscle and testis. Also expressed in the kidney, liver, lung, placenta and prostate.
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the amidase family.
Cellular localizationEndomembrane system. Cytoplasm > cytoskeleton. Seems to be attached to intracellular membranes and a portion of the cytoskeletal network.
