Preparation and Storage

  • Stability and Storage

    Shipped at 4°C. The lyophilized protein is stable for a few weeks at room temperature. Store at -20°C long term.

    Constituents: 99% Phosphate Buffer, 0.88% Sodium chloride

  • Reconstitution
    Lyophilized from a 0.2 µM filtered solution. Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in 1X PBS. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 µg/ml.
    Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-7°C for 2-7 days. Aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable at < -20°C for 3 months.

  • Function
    ICAM proteins are ligands for the leukocyte adhesion protein LFA-1 (integrin alpha-L/beta-2). During leukocyte trans-endothelial migration, ICAM1 engagement promotes the assembly of endothelial apical cups through ARHGEF26/SGEF and RHOG activation. In case of rhinovirus infection acts as a cellular receptor for the virus.
