The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
The activity is determined by the stimulation of D10S.G4.1 cells and is typically 1-6 pg/ml.
< 0.100 Eu/µg
It is recommended that a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) is added for long term storage.

Preparation and Storage
Stability and Storage
Shipped at 4°C. After reconstitution store at -20ºC. Avoid freeze / thaw cycles.
This product is an active protein and may elicit a biological response in vivo, handle with caution.
Lyophilised product is very stable at -20°C. Centrifuge vial before opening. When reconstituting ab119165, gently pipette and wash down the sides of the vial to ensure full recovery of the protein into solution. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilised product with sterile water at a concentration of 0.1 mg/ml, which can be further diluted into other aqueous solutions.
IL 1 alpha
Interleukin 1 alpha
Preinterleukin 1 alpha
Pro interleukin 1 alpha
Produced by activated macrophages, IL-1 stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells.
Belongs to the IL-1 family.
The similarity among the IL-1 precursors suggests that the amino ends of these proteins serve some as yet undefined function.
Secreted. The lack of a specific hydrophobic segment in the precursor sequence suggests that IL-1 is released by damaged cells or is secreted by a mechanism differing from that used for other secretory proteins.
