Preparation and Storage

  • Stability and Storage

Shipped at 4°C. Upon delivery aliquot. Store at -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein on reconstitution (0.1% HSA or BSA).

This product is an active protein and may elicit a biological response in vivo, handle with caution.

  • Reconstitution
Centrifuge vial before opening. When reconstituting the product, gently pipet and wash down the sides of the vial to ensure full recovery of the protein into solution. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilised product with sterile water at a concentration of 0.1 mg/mL, which can be further diluted into other aqueous solutions.

  • Relevance
Platelet Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) is a potent mitogen for a wide range of cell types including fibroblasts, smooth muscle and connective tissue. PDGF, which is composed of a dimer of two chains joined by disulphide bonds, termed the A chain and B chain, can be present as AA or BB homodimers or as an AB heterodimer. Human PDGF-AB is a 25.5 kDa heterodimer protein consisting of a 13.3 kDa A chain and a 12.2 kDa B chain.
  • Cellular localization
    Secreted
