  • RelevancePlacental growth factor is found as three isoforms, PLGF1, PLGF2 and PLGF3 created by alternative splicing. They are secreted factors although PLGF2 remains attached to the cell unless releasd by heparin. PLGF1 is active in angiogenesis, and endothelial cell growth, stimulating proliferation and migration. It binds to receptor VEGFR-1/FLT1.
